Technology
To assure true
photo-reproduction-quality output, the EPSON STYLUS PRO
5500 features an expanded 6-colour palette of Cyan, Light
Cyan, Magenta, Light Magenta, Yellow and Black. These
coloured inks are specially formulated into Ultra MicroDot™
(variable at 3 &10 picolitres) to prevent bleeding and to
assure rich, vivid colours with excellent contrast.

Encapsulation Technology
The new archival EPSON
ColorFast ink™ is the product of EPSON Micro Encapsulation
Technology. The new ink is encapsulated within a layer of
polymerized resin that ensures extremely uniform
dispersion for reduced graininess.
In addition, the resin fuses the ink to the print media,
forming a super-smooth surface as the ink sets.This
reduces reflected light diffusion, maintaining high chroma
for vibrant and natural colours.

This lightfastness test is a simulation of color
fading at indoor preservation condition under fluorescent
light (indoor display condition) with glass mount.The data
is calculated by EPSON ’s accelerated test and it does not
mean EPSON guaranteed periods.The estimated longevity does
not indicate the color changing and the durability of the
paper itself.There are other causes of color fading such
as ozone, temperature and humidity other than light. EPSON
’s newly developed pigment ink has high stability against
these factors especially against light. Test developed and
