Color fidelity for the printed product
Printopen provides printing and reproduction shops with a
color management tool that allows them to appropriately
communicate color information throughout the entire
prepress and printing processes, from the proof to the
printed product. Printopen is used to create ICC profiles
for color output devices that contain color-relevant
information on the device. The ICC profiles describe the
color space of output devices such as printing presses,
color printers, color copiers and proofers, thus
establishing the basis for a consistent color management
workflow. In a standardized workflow where the appropriate
profiles are available, documents can be printed on
different output devices with a result that can be
reproduced time and again. |

Basis for the workflow color
management
Scanopen, Viewopen and Printopen as ICC profile generation
tools form the basis for color management in the workflow.
In addition, applications are required that support the
ICC standard, such as the Heidelberg applications
Linocolor, Newcolor, Prinergy or Delta. Furthermore, the
features of the output process (e.g. the definition of the
paper, the ink, the amount of ink and many more) should be
standardized and continuously checked. |
