Shiraz™
is supplied as a complete package. The latest software
techniques have been used to develop a modular set of
programs which provide image processing and printing
options for electrostatic, inkjet and thermal printing
systems. Beyond that Shiraz™
provides complete workflow management, including the
ability to set up and utilise image and job information
databases, and wide connectivity to other users.
Shiraz™ RIP is a full
PostScript 3 compatible processor essential for the
highest quality printing. It can also process all the
common input formats, including PostScript, EPS, TIFF,
JPEG and PDF. The RIP incorporates support for ICC colour
profiles as well as standard options for colour
calibration, gamma correction, brightness, contrast
and saturation.
Shiraz™ answers all
large format image processing and printing requirements,
configured either as a stand-alone workstation or a large
client/server installation,
Shiraz™ can be upgraded to match the needs of a
growing business.
Shiraz™ is available
for PC Windows or Mac OS and the lower priced versions
will appeal to users of the smaller
24-inch and 36-inch wide printers.
Shiraz 24 - for up
to 24” wide prints
Shiraz 36 - for
up to 36” wide prints
Shiraz 48 - for

Features & Benefits:
- Easy to use:
Designed by imaging professionals, it is easy to use and
simple to learn
- PC and Mac
Versions: There are PC Win 95/98/NT/2000 and for Mac 8, 9
and X
- Full
PostScript Compatible RIP: The interpreter based on the
proven 5D Jaws engine
- Tiling:
Providing users with an unlimited custom tiling and
panelling facility users may divide their graphic output
into a bespoke pattern of tiles, each with a different
rectangular dimension
- Panelling:
The graphic may be positioned within a pre-defined print
area. The user can select which tiles to print and omit
blank tiles where preferred
-
Instant RIP and Print:
Allows simultaneous RIP and Print so that printing
begins within seconds of processing. Complements standard
production mode of RIP before printing
- Size and Crop:
A facility for the user to print selected extracts of a file
rather than the whole of the graphic design it contains. Any
rectangular selection of the graphic can be isolated
on-screen and printed in proportion in any size
- Error
Diffusion: Uses a unique stochastic screen which produces
smooth, photo-realistic quality images and is ideal for full
colour work
- Halftones:
Generated using preset halftone screens which have been
calculated for each print resolution. These optimised
screens produce the highest quality halftone printing and
are ideal for simulated screenprint
- Solid: Uses a
non-clustered halftone pattern for applications such as
maps, timetables and diagrams, producing results similar to
the block colour quality of conventional non-digital
printing
- Textile:
Produces a unique evenly distributed pattern for
applications such as textile printing, especially developed
for electrostatic dye-sublimation transfer printing
- Colour
Management: Uses Linotype CMM colour management system from
Heidelberg which supports ICC colour profiles to reproduce
colour as closely as possible. Gamma, brightness, contrast
and saturation adjustments are automatically handled with
preprogrammed colour tables. Includes custom fine-tuning
facility using a densitometer
- Image Preview:
Allows a processed image to be viewed on-screen for checking
prior to printing
- Printer
Drivers: All popular printers are supported including the
Encad Chroma, NovaJet PRO & PROe series, the HP DesignJet
series, Epson Stylus Pro series, Mutoh Falcon series, the
Xerox 8900 series and many others.
- Direct USB
Printing: Supports direct USB port connection to printer
- Continuous
Tone Printing: Supports continuous tone printing with
variable dot sizes and colour layering technology
- Multiple Print
Heads: Supports for 4, 6 & 8 printheads including standard
CMYK, Hi-Fi, Hexachrome, Ultra-Fi and Octochrome
- Step and
Repeat: Step and repeat of prints which are automatically
nested to avoid material wastage
- Batch and
Queue: Allows the unattended batch production of multiple
print jobs. The order of print jobs in the batch queue can
be changed according to priority, or be held until later
- Printer
Control: Allows the selection of printing modes which
includes the number of passes, carriage speed, number of
repeats, order of colour and remote ink monitoring
- Reprint:
Allows processed jobs to be reprinted without the need for
reprocessing
- Spooler
Facility: Allows the processing of print jobs to continue
although the printer may be in use. Jobs may be redirected
to available printers if desired
- Templates:
Parameter setting for jobs can be saved as templates and
used again for similar jobs. Enables the fast setup of
complex jobs such as the production of pop-up stands
- File Imports:
All popular file types can be imported, including eps,
PostScript, pdf, jpg and tiff
- Layout
Preview: Allows the positions of multiple prints which are
automatically nested on-the-fly to be viewed on-screen so
that the preferred layout can be selected prior to printing
- Full Speed
IKON Drivers: Supports the PCI-bus IKON 10117 card driver
for full speed data transfer for fast electrostatic printing
- Support: A
network of support by our trained staff, available by
telephone, fax or email. Internet web site of the principal
provide the latest product information
- Client/Server:
Allows users to prepare files for printing from the comfort
of their PC or Mac workstations
Minimum Hardware Configuration:
Pentium 333MHz Processor or Macintosh PowerPC 300MHz
Processor, 64MB RAM, 2GB Hard Disk, SVGA Monitor, Mouse &
keyboard, Parallel port for PC or USB port for Mac
